Liquorice has been used for over 3000 years. Promotes breakdown and excretion of bronchial phlegm. Adrenal tonic: promotes production of cortisol, useful after prolonged steroid use and adrenal exhaustion.
Useful with gut ulceration as aids healing of digestive mucosa when combined with Slippery Elm, also shows slight laxative properties. Liquorice also has excellent anti-inflammatory and anti-viral properties.
Not to be given long term or during pregnancy, however can increase a mares fertility.
Dosage: 1 tablespoon per day for average sized horse added straight to feed
